Australian comedian Ty Gray must be one of the hardest working comedians at this years Fringe. Fronting no less than 3 shows, as well as some headline gigs, I was delighted to be able to review “4 Aussies, For Aussies). It’s a bit of a Oz showcase as you might imagine, well compered by Ty and featuring some of Australia’s up and coming talent.
He opens with a sneak peak of his own material, and we are immediately drawn into his new found life in Barcelona alongside his girlfriend. Relationship chaos and trying to learn Spanish are only 2 of the challenges he’s currently facing.
We are introduced to Lachy Skinner, and his no-holds barred style is immediately obvious. He’s got plenty to say, and we get see a pretty good snapshot of his longer show looks like. He’s got some pretty good material to work on, using his previous work experience to good effect.
Next up on stage is Luke Ditchfield, another new-comer, and in a similar vein, he happily shares his thoughts and experiences on a variety of topics, nice pace and delivery, and I’m keen to see his full show.
Finally up on stage was Prue Blake, I felt she started quite slowly, but then found her groove we had a good chuckle at her set.
It’s a tried and tested format and a nice way to ease yourself into the Fringe, you never know who you might see.
