Willy
Russell is probably best known for the long running West End
Musical Blood Brothers or perhaps Educating Rita and Shirley
Valentine, plays that were made into highly successful movies,
however this play in my opinion is at least their equal.
Set
in the toilets of a somewhat run down club, the Stag party and Hen
night each choose the same place to celebrate the forthcoming
nuptials of the bride and groom, but is there trouble in paradise?
Throw into the mix a pop star ex of the bride and se how it all
develops.
Russell's
excellent writing, together with Alan Hunter's direction and good
performances from the eleven strong cast make this an intriguing
way to spend just over an hour during late afternoon.
