Phone Play  by  Evan Placey
Phone Play is a reflection of modern life. Have we all not faced exasperation in our dealings with officialdom and big organisations? Have we not overheard banal conversations in just about any public place? Phone play hilariously evokes the frustrations of phone talk, well, apart from the apparent pleasures to be had from phone sex.
Set in Toronto, but it could be anywhere in the western world, 8 characters, 6 women and 2 men, play out a mix of phone conversations. The " where are you " and repeated cold call conversations are comic highpoints.
An unusual conclusion is reached when the cast leave the stage and a series of answer phone messages bring a resolution to the various inter-connecting strands.
Lively, fast paced with strong performances from all the cast - most enjoyable.
