I think
anyone who hasn’t heard of this blonde Essex girl over the last ten years
must have been living on the moon. Without a telly. Or a newspaper.
The sexy
former presenter of the Big Breakfast, of sit-coms, TV dramas, hit records
and reality panels is putting herself in the live spotlight with an hour
show in the Underbelly Cowbarn.
In an
homage to blondes everywhere, Ms Van Outen sings her heart out,
accompanied by Mike Moran on the piano, together with a few projected
slides and the occasional anecdote and a gag or two illustration moments
of her life, certainly it appeared that this blonde was having more fun.
Blonde
singers, from Mae West via Marilyn Monroe, Kylie, Dusty Springfield, Dolly
Parton, Bonnie Tyler, Olivia Newton-John, Madonna and Britney were the
musical ports that Denise took the several hundred audience to, and I for
one was pleasantly surprise just how good a voice she had.
This of
course was the majority of the package, however the Essex ‘gell’
appeared occasionally, well you can take the girl out of Essex…….
Her
tickets are selling very well, obviously her TV profile helping, but it is
not just her trading on that, she is a genuinely talented singer on top of
everything else she has going for her.
