I
have to admit that this play nearly didn't make it to my list of shows
to see, but it eventually did, and boy am I glad. I have to say I
usually make a couple of lucky choices each Fringe and this must be up
there with the best.
This
is in essence a very simple story,
boy arrives penniless in Liverpool, meets and falls for girl in
bookies, the attraction is mutual, they explore the city, develop their
attraction for each other, but where will it end?
There
is no writing credit in the programme unfortunately, but I'm assuming it
is by the cast of Helen Elizabeth and James Brough. The script is
superbly written to enable the acting quality of Ms Elizabeth and Mr
Brough to shine as they deliver the story both lyrically and in prose.
This
is definitely number one for early afternoon entertainment, do not get
left behind in the rush for the box office.
