Get
Carter from the well respected Red Shift Theatre Company is yet another of
plays adapted from major movies this one bas on a70's epic starring
Michael Caine.
The
first impression on entering the theatre is that this is possibly the
most substantial set on the Fringe this year as it becomes what ever it
is required to be during the many scene changes within this adaptation by
director Johathan Holloway.
Jack
Carter is a hard man, and he returns north following the death of his
brother in a car crash, but is it an accident or was he killed? Carter
is determined to find out and his search leads to much aggro with old
friends, rivals and potential allies.
The
small company play all other roles and I did find it a little confusing
at times as to who was playing what role at what time, but this is a
powerful play, however not a easy one to watch given the necessary
violence that is dictated by the play.
