Fringe seems to be the one of the Aussie soap stars, from Kylie Minogue
appearing on stage with Havana Rumba, through Michael Beckley in 'Breakfast
with Johnnie Wilkinson' , Corinne Grant, at leas two others and Stehen
Lovatt who can currently be seen Monday to Friday in Neighbours as Max
Hoyland.
Curiosity aroused I went along to the Zoo venue
124 to see 'The End of the Golden Weather'. The play is described as
"A modern New Zealand classic written by Bruce Mason and directed
by Mark Clare".
I
was half expecting to watch Max Hoyland playing all the characters in
this play but to his credit Stephen did not once let that persona out.
His portrayal of the various different people in the show is very clever
and his accent changes where required. Credit to the writer for a script
that Stephen translates into vivid verbal photographs.
Well
written and performed but sadly on a short run, catch it before it truly
is 'The End of the Golden Weather'.
