It
is no secret that both Geoff and I really love going to see the very
talented Ed Byrne perform stand-up. We have been enjoying his comedy
since 1998 and just can not get enough, this is proven by the fact that
not only did we go to Kirkcaldy in March to see his ‘Different
Class’ tour but that we returned to see the same tour performed in
Dunfermline’s Alhambra theatre on Saturday 7th November.
We really enjoyed the show in March but it was
all too obvious Ed has had time to polish an already brilliant show to
almost sparkling perfection. Whether it is the time he has been able to
spend on the material or the virtually sold out audience he faced in
Dunfermline but he was certainly totally rocking the theatre. It was
such a fabulous night and Ed seemed to be having as much fun as his
audiences. Whether it was an almost new audience base or the place was
packed with Byrne fans, but the appreciation of his humour was audible
and almost palpable.
For
us addicts, who need an Ed Byrne fix, Christmas will be easily catered
for as his latest DVD ‘Different Class’ is released on the 23rd
November, pre-order at play.com now. The tour continues until December
when he finishes by returning to Scotland, 2nd at Perth
Concert Hall and 3rd at Dundee’s Caird Hall.
Ed Byrne may be in a ‘Different Class’ but
everyone can enjoy him. This was yet another superb show at the recently
refurbished Alhambra Theatre which is certainly going from strength to
strength. For more information on Ed Byrne go to www.edbyrne.com
