Dream Maker Productions –The Sequel

There are those of you who will have witnessed the previous visit of this ultra talented group of performers earlier in the year, or maybe you have read the previous review on this site. Suffice to say whether it was from either source or perhaps just word of mouth, but this gig was sold out within minutes of it being announced to the club’s members and friends.
If you have not witnessed them before they put on almost 3 hours of entertainment, some songs, a lot of comedy and mix this up in three sessions between the artistes available. This gig had six of the eight who performed the first time, Irene Burt, David Mutch, Joe Hannan, Jacqui Hannan, Kat Bowman, Lorraine Dobie and Bill Blenman returning to entertain with the addition of Maureen Barclay.
MC Blenman again got proceedings off to a fine start before the introduction of the superbly talented David Mutch, who sang his first selection of show tunes.  Other sessions followed and in spite of a few technical problems with his backing tracks Mutch was so professional in his approach and delivery and personally I, as a musical theatre aficionado, thought his selection superb and even if some attendees thought his repertoire a little obscure they still raved about the quality of his performance.
Maureen Barclay, Lorraine Dobie, Kat Bowman and to a slightly lesser number than usual Jacqui Hannan also performed some quality songs, most slightly better known to the majority of the enthusiastic crowd and the couple of numbers performed by young Joe Hannan did his reputation no harm at all.
The groups inclusion of comedy, self penned, was predominately the realms in which Irene Burt and Jacqui Hannnan specialised, and was generally not just funny, but hilarious. Ms Hannan has such a wide repertoire of expressions and characters, it is almost unfair, and her perfect foil is Irene. Others assisted and the comic finale just had to be witnessed to be believed.
Dream Maker Productions do all their work for Charity, specialising in Kidney Research UK so in itself it is worth booking them to perform, however if the two shows I’ve witnessed are typical of their quality, and I have no reason to think otherwise, then try and book them for your function. This can be done by contacting Bill Blenman at billblenman@btinternet.com
The next production we will witness will be on 8 December and already I am looking forward to it.
