Many people in show business aspire
to perform at ‘The Carnegie Hall’ most couldn’t dream of finishing
off an almost sell-out tour at the venue, but this is exactly what
Scottish comedian Danny Bhoy has succeeded in doing!
OK! Admittedly it wasn’t in New
York but ‘The Carnegie Hall’ Theatre Dunfermline Fife, but hey who
cares.
Having seen and loved Danny during
the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2006, I dragged Geoff along to our local
theatre on Thursday 26th October.
Although Geoff was first to see Danny, I have sort of taken over;
honest it is to do with his comedic talents and not just his gorgeous good
looks.
Last year Danny toured with a
support act this year we got him all to ourselves. He was as always great
value for money as we had about ¾ of an hour for the first half then a
short interval and just over an hour for the second, but even with the
extra time he still didn’t manage to get in all my favourite stories. He
did manage to cover some of his heckles, his recent visits to Australia,
the most threatening call in the English language and why all non-Scots
should fear the opening bars of Ceilidh music.
Knowing his partiality to a
particular Moffat delicacy I took him a tin but it isn’t to make him fat
but to give him energy to give us more, more, more!
Danny is now taking a well-earned
rest for a few weeks, hopefully to recharge his batteries and develop even
more material. No doubt this popular young Scot will be back stronger than
ever 2007 and we can seriously recommend that if you get a chance and he
is performing near you check him out. He deserves to go to the very top
and you would not want to miss out would you!!
For full information as to his
movements during 2007, initially his tour ‘Down Under’, check out his
website www.dannybhoy.com and
there is also the promise of a new DVD
in the pipeline too.
