I had hoped to see ‘We Will Rock You’ several times during its visit to the Playhouse Theatre Edinburgh 2009 / 2010. As the weather and numerous bouts of the cold decided otherwise I only got to see it three times finally getting autographs and photographs after the last show. |

Having seen the first preview and the official gala opening night when both Brian May and Roger Taylor made guest appearances during the encore. It was 9 weeks before I got to see it again. The atmosphere during the final show on Saturday 9th 2010 was absolutely electric, the audience participation started with the first notes of ‘Radio Ga Ga’ the hand clapping threatened to drown the band. This audience participation continued throughout the show culminating in the standing ovation, which lasted throughout the encore, the bows and the final refrain. |

During the first two performances I saw Rachel John, the understudy, as Meat on the final night I saw Georgina Hagen the publicised actor and she was absolutely fabulous. Her voice is superb and the interaction between her and Wayne A Robinson as Britney was a joy to watch. Talking about great voices Sarah French-Ellis as Scaramouche has a phenomenal one, her feisty interaction with the dreamer Galileo (Michael Falzon) is funny and caused several, obviously unexpected reactions from this Edinburgh audience. |

The first two shows were great but the final one was definitely out of this world, everyone on stage seemed to be having a huge party in which we were included. I look forward to seeing ‘We Will Rock You’ again soon. Here’s hoping someone has the sense to make a film of this soon as the lib gives the producers and directors almost endless possibilities to have fun. |
