I
adore this musical yet I have only ever seen amateur productions, as
it is not frequently performed.
It
is suitable for small groups but is most often performed by large
companies. In this case this fringe adaptation is presented as part
of the AHSTF.
Chris
Kucharczyk as the leading player invites Matt Lai as Pippin to
consider joining his troupe of actors and perhaps complete the most
perfect act ever - the Finale. This group of 30 students do
everything, performing, orchestra and technical. It is cleverly
produced and directed with some lovely staging tricks and
interesting choreography.
They
may not have the strongest voices possible but they make up for that
in effort and enjoyment.
Sadly
they only get to do 4 performances.
