Some
shows and performances just go from bad to worse. This, unfortunately,
is one such example. Cole Porter wrote many beautiful songs but Carol
Bishop’s treatment of them did them no justice. She has no subtlety in
her voice and no feeling for the lyrics. No amount of costume changes
can hide the blunt truth that she doesn’t have the talent to carry a
55 minute show, as those who left before the show had finished had
realised.
For the
people sitting beside me all they got from this experience was some
recommendations from myself for some quality productions to be found
elsewhere. I can’t really print their comments for this show.
