If You Can Read This, My Cape Fell Off

***
Bec Hill’s show is a combination of stand up, video and simple cartoon animation. Her opening is a video sequence where she is being chased by the evil ‘Procrastinator’. This triggers the thought that to take on an evil foe, it would be good to become transformed into a super hero.
She explores the powers of super heroes, the costume, the sidekick possibilities and possible forms of transport. The humour is patchy. A highlight is her account of going to a sex fair to try to find a costume. It is not easy finding outfits in lycra, leather and rubber from regular outlets. The outfits she discovered were on the skimpy side and she doesn’t do that kind of show. She also has video clips of Ross Noble and fellow Australian Adam Hills giving their ideas on super heroes.
Her ending is sweet and reassuring. If you are into the fantasy world of the super hero, this could be the show for you.
