I first came across Tom Wrigglesworth as
one third of last year’s AAA Comedy during the Fringe and was very
impressed with this Yorkshire man with ‘ the body of footballer
Peter Crouch’. Tom also sports a mass of curly hair and glasses so
he is rather difficult to forget either.
But maybe the most memorable thing about
him is not his looks but his comedy talent which shone through in 20
minutes last year but was even more in evidence with his full hour.
Wrigglesworth has a whole fund of stories
about passed events in his year, has strong opinions on all sorts of
things, gravy being but one, and is not afraid to share them.
He relates stories about his technophobe
father and the internet which just has to be heard, upsetting
printers, comedy vicars and blocked credit cards to mention just a
few but there are many, many more also.
He does like to relate to his audience and
got a lot of mileage from a late arriving couple he Irish and her
French , but she in particular got their own back by giving him some
of the best second language heckles he said he’d ever received.
I’m sure Wrigglesworth will soon be as
big a name as he is tall so grab you chance to see he while you can
and you won’t regret it.
