I have always liked the work of Paul
Kerenza since I first came across his play Spinning Jenny way back
when, and have made a point of trying to catch his shows each time
he appears in Edinburgh.
Kerenza is a very cerebral comedian always
with a well constructed theme to his work and not just relying on
nob gags for his laughs.
The show tile Ipaul comes about because he
set himself an almost Dave Gorman like task to listen to a different
style of music each month for a year on a quest for his goal and so
he did with months consisting of pop, rock , classical, country etc
from September 07 up to date.
Paul, with his normal style of delivery,
usually accompanied by his lap top and projector is a bountiful with
his gags, quips, puns and PowerPoint as I now have come to expect,
but has added costumes and even singing to his repertoire. The man
obviously loves his music as much as I do and I found this an
intriguing and thoroughly enjoyable show, as did all who saw the
performance.
So if you are into music and comedy, where
better that this to spend an hour go say Hi Paul to ipaul.
