At the outset, we are ushered into our
seats as if we are mature students at an Art College by a bossy
Spanish art teacher. The set up is that we are here to attend a life
drawing class. Enter the nervous Owen in his dressing gown. It is
his first assignment as a nude model. This part contains the best
comedy in the show as he gets his kit off. Later the experienced,
overweening Ciaran joins the class with his kit already proudly
removed.
For me, there is a basic flaw in that the
action is played to a sound track voicing the innermost thoughts of
the two models. Unfortunately, there are long tedious and
predictable musings to endure. Listening to a sound track for 50
minutes or so with two naked guys sitting around or engaged in a bit
of horseplay, is not the best choice to make if you want live
comedy. What might make a funny 20 minute routine has been padded
out to last almost an hour.
