Isy Suttie is a comedy actress and a
singer/songwriter of enchanting songs whilst accompanying herself on
guitar. In her act she combines these two talents as she takes on
the role of several imaginary characters. Dreams and ambitions are
recurring themes in her show.
Three of her characters have songs in their
repertoire. There is Yvonne Winehouse, the twee country cousin of
Amy; Melody the hairdresser from Liverpool and Mr Mississippi a
blues singer from New Orleans who presents his song ‘How to get
the ladies into bed’. She does some songs as herself, for
instance, recalling as a teenager writing and recording on cassette
love songs for her school pals about the boys they fancied.
She has such a natural exuberance it is
impossible not to join in with her at the outset and finale of the
show. Her performance is witty, clever and charming.
