This show is exactly what it says on the
tin, some of the finest Irish comedians, and let’s face it there
are enough to choose from, three per night and a compere in a little
over an hour.
As usual with gigs of this type the compere
warms up the crowd with some material, garners information as to the
audiences foibles and acts as the link between all three acts. The
laughs come thick and fast also it is a chance to see some acts do
twenty minutes that could inspire you to catch their full act.
The night I attended was compered by the
excellent Karl Spain, who did his job like the true pro he is, and
the three acts, opener Andrew Stanley, Norther Irishman Jeff
O’Boyle and headliner Johnny Candon all had the audience in peels
of laughter.
One of the beauties of this show is that as
the line-up changes daily it’s a show that can be visited often
and never see the same act twice.
Another advantage is that prior to this
show The Stand catering team are present so some excellent food
freshly cooked at a very good price is on offer too.
