Admittedly
curiosity alone brought me to see Simon Amstell. I know he was at
the Fringe last year, but was not tempted although I did want to
congratulate him on becoming the host of "Never Mind the
Buzzcocks" with Phil Jupitus ('Waiting for Alice', Assembly, 'Trumptonshre
Tales' with Brian Cant Pleasance fringe 2007) and Bill Bailey
(no fringe shows 2007).
Pleasance
One was a sell out and his tickets are going fast with extra shows
planed.
This
bubbly, personable young man spends his hour explaining how we are
all connected, we are our own personal gods and how we are to blame
for our own and the worlds tragedies.
The
packed house roared and laughed the whole way through the
performance. Personally I found him amusing, but for some reason
failed to see what the hype is, I get the feeling somehow I was
missing the point as everyone else seemed to find him hilarious.
