Travels with my Hip-Flask

Keara Murphy, a youngish Glasgow comedienne, has an entertaining line of patter as she recounts her recent travels. She is confident and can deliver a punch line. However, her material is variable in quality for a 1 hour show. Her Hungarian experiences worked best but the references to Ireland lacked originality.

She is quick witted when connecting with the audience. The night I saw her she dealt brilliantly with 3 teenage girls who seemed physically connected to their mobile phones, even taking a real call and running with it.

Keara is a talent but she needs to find her own distinctive approach and material to sustain the performance for a full hour.
