The Pool Guy

Steve Daking, the pool guy, has an entertaining line of pool patter, full of reminiscences. There is no doubting his pool playing credentials. Naturally, the audience want to see the trick shots. Being a live show not all were successful. I would estimate on the day I saw him he had a 75 % success rate. However, being a real ‘pro’ this did not phase him and he did have well prepared ‘out’ lines.

Whether his act would have a wide appeal is questionable. It will definitely appeal to those who have picked up a cue at some time. Since we are all used to the video replay, I almost instinctively wanted to see how the trick shot was achieved in slow motion. Perhaps this kind of visual could be incorporated into his show.
